Flex-On is a brand that was designed back in 2011. The company develops shock-absorbing stirrups that are comfortable, accurate, and provide great grip for riders. Flex-On stirrups have become a well-known product in the equestrian world.
If you’re a young rider you may not know this yet, but jumping over a long period of time really takes it out of your knee and ankle joints. That’s why these day top stirrup manufacturers like Flex-On have started adding cushioning to their stirrups. Flex-on stirrups system uses elastomer shock absorbers with a wide footbed, which cushions the shock waves from the horse’s movement. This helps with the rider’s stability and reduces joint stress.
Then let’s talk about grip. We all know that there is nothing worse than losing your stirrup halfway through your round. And then coming to the realization that you’re not going to get it back and, you’re just going to have to finish your round without it. Well, you may need to lose the sole of your boot before you lose your stirrup with these stirrup irons. They literally have little spikes that grip into the sole of your boot. They don’t damage your boot, but I wouldn’t recommend riding barefoot in them.
So in short, they are worth every cent. They are lightweight, they provide cushioning to protect your joints. As an older rider, believe me, that’s as important as a good pair of trainers to run in. And then grip that is second to none. No more nightmares about losing your stirrup halfway through your round.
